What Is Timeshare?

Owning a timeshare is like owning a portion of a condominium in all the top vacation destinations. You own the vacation accommodations but only for the amount of time you choose - typically one or two weeks each year.

Timeshare ownership is priced according to a variety of factors, including: size of the unit, resort amenities, resort location, season, and the quantity of credits, points or intervals you wish to purchase.

With timeshare, the owner has all the benefits of a vacation home without the year-round costs or headaches of second home ownership. A timeshare can be deeded or non-deeded. Most timeshare companies offer timeshares that can last in perpetuity, so you can pass them on to your kids. Some timeshares may only last for a certain number of years.
